Chronicle of the dark maneuvers put into practice by a politician to seize an opposition newspaper. A Muslim terrorist receives the order to kill a stockbroker, which triggers a series of blackmail and deception. Mr Spanò intends to seize a newspaper politically opposed to him. The man uses a Lebanese terrorist, Bassouri, and a cynical businessman, Gaetano Leporino, to achieve his goal.
The Arab terrorist is tasked with killing a stockbroker, the misdeed triggers a series of blackmail and subterfuges with which the strong powers that gravitate around the daily life try to gain supremacy.
It is up to a deputy quaestor and a brave journalist to shed light on the whole affair, but the politician, with skillful and unscrupulous moves, manages to gag the whole investigation. (Here)

Based on a novel by Corrado Augias and Daniela Pasti, the film tells a story very similar to events that really happen in the publishing world. A group wants to make the climb to an important newspaper and seems really ready to do anything to succeed: blackmail, cheating and even murder become the fundamental stages to achieve the majority of actions. The protagonist, Volonté, suffers, up to three quarters of the film, the shady maneuvers of ruthless opponents, then shakes up also thanks to a disgraced police commissioner and an investigative reporter. The story is good, the actors are effective, but the film still fails to keep what were the promises of the novel: the subtle play between politics, corruption and thirst for power intertwined by Augias and Pasti turns, on screen, into a mess of unconvincing fantasy politics. （Here)
