About the director Luciano Salce

|
Luciano
Salce (Roma, 25 settembre 1923 – Roma, 17 dicembre 1989)
è stato un regista e attore italiano.
Dopo
aver lasciato la facoltà di giurisprudenza poco prima
della laurea, si iscrisse all'accademia di arte drammatica
dove si diplomò. Cominciò la sua attività artistica
nel campo del teatro, in Italia e in Francia, recitando

Born:
September 25, 1922 in Rome, Italy Occupation: Actor,
Director, Screenwriter Biography:Italian director Luciano
Salce did his first post-college work helming stage
plays, then moved to Brazil in 1950 to function as artistic
director of Teatro Brasiliero de Comedia. Salce acted
in a handful Brazilian films before returning to Italy
to work in radio and television. His first film directorial
credit was Le Pillole di Ecole (1960), after which he
filled the triple-threat capacity as actor/writer/director
for The Fascist (1961). Some of Scale's best film work
in the '60s could be found in multi-storied pictures
wherein each episode was handled by a different director,
e.g. Kiss the Other Sheik (1965) and The Queens (1966).
The director was particularly fond of light, location-shot
comedies about the clash of old and new values, notably
the Ugo Tognazzi vehicle Crazy Desire (1961) (please
avoid the crudely English-dubbed version of this one).
Virtually unknown in America, Luciano Salce is frequently
represented on US television by one of his most conventional
pictures, a harmless 1963 confection starring Sylvia
Koscina and Catherine Spaak titled The Little Nuns.(See

The Fascist (Il Federale) is a comedy set in 1944 Italy. Dedicated
fascist Ugo Tognazzi is sent to capture anti-Mussolini professor
Georges Wilson. He accomplishes his mission, but both captor and
captive have a hard time getting home. After numerous comic misadventures
in Tognazzi's motorcycle, the two men are caught in an air raid,
the result being that both lose their clothing. Arriving in Rome,
Tognazzi discovers that the city has fallen to the Allies--and now
it is he, the fascist, who is in danger of capture and incarceration.
Professor Wilson, who has grown fond of the essentially decent Tognazzi,
rescues his ex-captor from an angry mob. Filmed in 1961, The Fascist
was finally released in the US four years later. Hal Erickson(See

About the Brigate Nere (Black Brigades)
|
Black
Brigades (Italian: Brigate Nere) were one of the fascist
paramilitary groups operating in the Italian Social
Republic (in northern Italy), during the final years
of World War II, and after the signing of the Italian
Armistice in 1943.
Italian
dictator Benito Mussolini was arrested after the Italian
Grand Council of Fascism (Gran Consiglio del Fascismo),
with the support of King Vittorio Emanuele III, overthrew
him and began negotiations with the Allies for Italy's
withdrawal from the war. Mussolini was rescued by
German paratroopers led by Otto Skorzeny. He was then
installed by the Germans as the President of the Italian
Social Republic (RSI). The RSI was to be an Italian
regime which was to nominally administer the German-occupied
northern Italy.(See 01,

What
a treat! This is the first soundtrack that Ennio Morricone
ever composed! It's from the 1961 movie Il Federale
(The Fascist) and is presented here on CD for the very
first time.
The Il Federale soundtrack alternates between humourous
music to dramatic passages and this release which has
been fully authorised by Morricone himself.
The Il Federale soundtrack contains many elements
that are typical of Morricone's later styles he developed
throughout his four and a half decades of soundtrack
composing. (See

"Digitmovies
proudly wants to celebrate the 45 years of legendary
Film Music by composer Ennio Morricone releasing on
CD the complete score composed and orchestrated by Maestro
Ennio Morricone in year 1961 for Luciano Salce's "Il
federale" ("The Fascist") starring Ugo
Tognazzi. This CD release is again possible thanks to
the big help of C.A.M. friends who did keep for until
today the session mono master tapes and Maestro Ennio
Morricone himself who authorized every selected track.
This score is historically very important cause it represents
Maestro Morricone's absolute first Film Scoring assignment
and also the first record of his so big discography.
In fact in year 1961 RCA released a (Hyper Top rare
today!) EP single (RCA PME-30-447) containing some selections
from the score (mostly editings of various takes that
were really cut versions, while here we have restored
these takes, presenting them for the first time in their
uncut form. The tracks of the original single are here
all enclosed: Tracks 1, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 16, 17, 22 (while
the track 6 called "Colloquio delle fragole"
was a mistaken title featuring on the EP single different
music that did not correspond at all to the right film
scene, so apart the track title, the right music appears
here on record for the first time. Ennio Morricone has
written an orchestral score (conducted by Pierluigi
Urbini) dominated by a lovely March called "Marcia
del viaggio" , a funny military theme like a real
Scherzo for Orchestra, introduced in "Titoli"
(tr.1) and then reprised with variations in the score
(tr.7, 9, 12). The other main theme is called "Tema
di Bonafè" for the character of Professor Bonafè
(Georges Wilson) (tr. 4 & tr.18) a mystic motif
with a semi-religious flavour. The score alternates
humoresque music passages (tr.4, 5, 11, 14, 15) to other
dramatic ones (tr.5, tr.21). This score written by a
young Morricone is a music jewel containing many elements
so typical of his later style that he has delevoped
and matured during the following four decades and half.
Thank you M° Morricone for 45 years of legendary Film
Music! Limited edition compact disc - 12 full colour
pages de-luxe booklet." (See

There
are many coincidence in the world. Today I also met a coincidence,
My long friend Mr. Chilian (See
here) sent an E-mail to me today, he tell me that he and his family
are traveling in Italy. Of course, this is not what coincidence, only
it is coincidence that his traveling place just is the departing place
of the dramatis personae of the movie in that special tour--Abruzzo.
Below is an extract of the E-mail" |
|
....during
the first week of June we visited the village of TORTORETO
LIDO, which on the eastern side of the Italian peninsula
on the coast of the Adriatic sea (approx. on the same level
as ROME). The Abruzze mountains are west of the village
and the highest mountain is 2950 meters high !!!! Italy
is full of history with beautiful landscapes, old villages,
great food and friendly people...
|
|
After
enter "TORTORETO
LIDO" in Google, I have found its address. map.and
official web site soon, its position is below: |
|
|
|
TORTORETO
in the hand position of right side, it situated east-north
corner of Abruzzo region. Roma is situated its left side
|
LIDO
is a town of the TORTORETO (in the hand position) It is situated
middle of A14 expressway and Adriatic
sea and a narrow-long land
|
A
bird's eye of LIDO, the street, houses, coastal virescence
belt, white sand beach, amusement establishment with art design
was arranged in good order. bobble Adriatic
sea is
so nice.

I
also found its office
