(Italian) Per poter sposare l'amata Pamela, Provvidenza deve trovare mezzo milione di dollari. Ne combina di tutte per riuscirci. Curioso, buffo western che riprende un vecchio personaggio di altri film e lo trasforma in una sorta di Charlot da western. Le trovate non mancano, il gusto è sempre di buon livello. (Here)

Provvidenza, cacciatore di taglie, si innamora di una giovane donna, Pamela, salvandola dall'annegamento (Carole André, che sarà ben nota al pubblico italiano, pochi anni dopo, come l'amata del Sandokan televisivo), e ne chiede la mano al padre di lei, un ricco possidente.

Ma la mano della fanciulla è già stata promessa ad un giovane ufficiale dell'esercito nordista, creditore del padre di lei per una ingente somma di denaro. Se Provvidenza vorrà coronare il suo sogno d'amore, dovrà trovare in una settimana mezzo milione di dollari, ovviamente ostacolato dal rivale in amore.

Provvidenza, con l'aiuto del fedele servitore Chao e del ladro dal cuore tenero Hurricane Kid, si cimenta in tante peripezie per ragranellare il malloppo: trucca la roulette di una bisca, cerca di truffare gli abitanti di una piccola cittadina costruendo una finta banca, cerca di svaligiare l'oro trasportato dal treno postale. Ogni tentativo, anche per il maldestro aiuto di Hurricane, non ottiene alcun risultato.

Ma quando tutto sembra perduto, Provvidenza scopre un'amara verità: Pamela e suo padre sono in realtà una coppia di truffatori, marito e moglie. Il finto padre non è altri che il famoso criminale Chan Ku La, vecchia conoscenza dell'eroe. (Here)

Bassano del Grappa (VI) il gestore di una ditta di forniture sacre auspica che la figlia sposi un consigliere regionale, amante di sua moglie, ma il piano è ostacolato dal vescovo che vuole sistemare un suo nipote. Scritto da Petroni con Augusto Caminito e Antonio Troisio, è una commedia grottesca che satireggia, con perfidia e risvolti da pochade, l'ipocrisia veneta e il suo retroterra libidinoso. Jack Beauregard (Henry Fonda) is a tired, aging legendary gunslinger who just wants to retire in peace in Europe to get away from young gunmen constantly trying to test themselves against the master. The film opens with three rascals ambushing Beauregard in a barbershop. After Beauregard has dispatched them, the barber's son asks his father if there is anyone in the world faster than Beauregard, to which the barber replies "Faster than him? Nobody!"

'Nobody' (Terence Hill) idolizes Beauregard and wants to see him die in a blaze of glory going against the infamous Wild Bunch singlehanded. The Wild Bunch are a gang of bandits who launder their loot of stolen gold via a fake goldmine. The owner sends them after Beauregard because the latter's now-dead brother was in on the deal.

Nobody dogs Beauregard through the west, encountering many who wish him dead, and pesters him to let him stage his grand finale. Eventually, the grand shoot-out does take place by a railway line. Nobody arranges for Beauregard to shoot at the Wild Bunch's mirrored-concho-decorated saddles which, he's discovered, contain sticks of dynamite, thus letting a few good shots eliminate many of the men. To escape, the two board a train that Nobody has stolen.

Finally, Nobody fakes a very public showdown with Beauregard, "killing" him and allowing him to slip away quietly. A street sign, marking where the gunfight took place, says "Nobody Was Faster On The Draw". Beauregard boards a boat for Europe and a quiet retirement, while Nobody takes up his own life of adventure.(Here)

In this psychological melodrama, a nun becomes obsessed with purifying the souls of those dwelling in her hostel-convent. The guests, who inevitably become entangled with one another, include, a reproachable Polish priest and Nazi collaborator, a murderous widow, and a reporter who has come to do a story on the priest. Tragedy ensues and moral corruption abounds until the end, when they realize that the nun was right all along. (Here)

(Italian) Scontro simbolico – con finale alla pari – tra la superiora di un convento e il diavolo nei panni di un giovane scrittore. Rapporti tra Chiesa e nazismo, psicanalisi di gruppo, incesto, affarismo ecclesiastico e chi più ne ha più ne metta. Film ambizioso pieno di motivi non sempre approfonditi. Curiosa incursione di D. Damiani nella tematica spiritualista: un tentativo di volo con molto piombo nelle ali. (Here)

Roberto si rende però conto di essere arrivato in un luogo strano: infatti gli ospiti dell’istituto hanno personalità particolari e per questo motivo sono stati qui confinati dal Vaticano.
Padre Moraldi è un prete operaio che ha partecipato agli scioperi, monsignor Marcos ha appoggiato Fidel Castro, mentre lo stesso monsignor Badenski è accusato di aver parteggiato per i nazisti.(Here and Here)

.....Running the establishment is Glenda Jackson, playing a character named Sister Geraldine, a handsome, frosty-mannered nun who enunciates so perfectly she always sounds as if she were in a speech competition. Sister Geraldine is big on the possibilities of redemption through prayer, group therapy (called "community meetings"), chastity and various other forms of self-denial.

Because of this she neglects her duties at the convent to devote herself to the saving of a motley group of souls who have sought voluntary refuge in her art-deco hostel. Among them are a beautiful young Latin American woman who fingered her right-wing husband for assassination by associates of her left-wing lover; a young Roman prince whose family won't allow him to marry the girl he loves (his sister); a Cuban bishop who sided with Fidel Castro in the revolution, and a Polish monsignor accused of working with the Nazis against the Russians.....(Here)

An Italian official's wife is kidnapped, and the kidnappers demand that a notorious prisoner be released in order for the man to get his wife back. He gets the man released--but then kidnaps him himself, in order to ensure that the man's colleagues don't kill his wife. Enraged, the gang sets out to free their compatriot and kill the man who took him. (Here)

Revolver benefits from a strong plot, two strong leading men and the fact that the film actually has a point to make. The plot focuses on Vito Cipriani; a prison warden and former police officer who finds himself with a choice to make when he is told by criminals that his wife has been kidnapped and the only way he can get her back is to spring crook Milo Ruiz from jail and make the exchange for his wife. Vito is not happy just to take the criminal's word for it, however, and so decides to kidnap the criminal himself before the exchange is made. It also soon becomes apparent that the criminal's aren't playing straight, which leads to an unlikely combination of prisoner and prison warden on the hunt for the warden's wife. (Here)

Unlike the title's Poe-implication, the villains whisk away her body before burial, substituting sand bags in the coffin. Belli is placed in a tiny cell adjoining a water mill, where she wakes up to remain in captivity (and unknown to anyone but the baddies) for the rest of the picture.

The good guys including her boyfriend and her brother (played by Francois Perrin and Fred Robsahm) eventually help out, but it is a little boy who discovers her plight and helps her, even trying to saw through the bars of her cell. Belli gives birth to a bambino (unaided -she's a plucky heroine) in her cell, the infant saved by being passed through the wide window bars to her young pal.(Here)

Philippe, duca di Cambyse, ha sposato Cristina, figlia di un pescatore, che lo induce a metodi meno tirannici. La cosa non piace ai due fratelli del duca che scatenano un losco intreccio di trame. Il lieto fine (ossia il trionfo del bene sul male) giustifica i mezzi. A. Lado non manca di ambizioni nel riportare in vita il romanzo di appendice di Marie Eugenie Saffray, ma ci riesce solo in parte. Belle musiche. Il film fu seguito da Il figlio della sepolta viva (1974), diretto da André Colbert (Luciano Ercoli) e tratto da un romanzo di Carolina Invernizio che nulla ha a che fare con questo. (Here)
