Plot Story of a young woman, Mrs. McBain, who moves from New Orleans to frontier Utah, on the very edge of the American West. She arrives to find her new husband and family slaughtered, but by who? 故事主要情节：在美国西部旗石镇车站，三个穿土黄色风衣的牛仔仿佛在等什么。突然出现一位吹口琴的年轻人。他得知黄衣牛仔全是匪首弗兰克的人，便和他们开始火并，三位黄衣牛仔成为枪下鬼。
一名叫吉尔的女子在车站等了五个小时，仍没人来接她。只好自己雇车去丈夫麦克贝恩的甜水农场。原来麦克贝恩已被匪首弗兰克杀害，同时被杀害的还有他与前妻的儿子与女儿。弗兰克受铁路大亨莫顿的委派，来威逼麦克贝恩让出有水源的甜水农场，结果他把麦克贝恩一家杀害了。
在往甜水农场的路上，吉尔在一家驿站目睹了惊心动魄的一幕。手戴镣铐的大盗夏尔打死了押送他的警员，并逼一牛仔用手枪打断了他的镣铐。此时传来古怪的口琴声，一位年轻牛仔出现。口琴手问夏尔会不会乐曲，夏尔说只会玩枪。

　　感情上失落又空虚的吉尔，一方面受弗兰克的逼迫，另一方面也被弗兰克男子汉的魅力诱惑，投入了弗兰克的怀抱。但是她在内心里垂青的是口琴手，因为他在车站杀了弗兰克的手下，救了她一命。
　　吉尔在弗兰克胁迫下公开拍卖甜水农场。眼看弗兰克开价五百元便阴谋得逞。口琴手开价五千元打破了弗兰克的计划。原来夏尔和口琴手私下结成了联盟，夏尔自愿被口琴手缉拿到官府，口琴手获得五千元赏金，想用它买下农场再还给吉尔。
　　弗兰克两次受到莫顿收买的匪徒的袭击，差点丧命，口琴手两次救了他，吉尔大惑不解。口琴手说他不该死在他们手里。口琴手是想亲手杀死弗兰克，而且要让他死个明白。

Plot (Italian) Northon, un gangster ritiratosi dagli affari, vuole vendicare la morte di sua sorella Helen, sposata a Frank Cline, scomparso durante il trasporto, via mare, di due milioni di dollari in oro, appartenenti all' "Organizzazione", della malavita.
